The JP078 Bb Tuba and '0' series as a whole aims to provide well-constructed entry level student instruments at an attractive price/performance balance. Its performance is comparable with that of the more expensive Yamaha mini tuba.

At only 33" high, the JP078 is surprisingly small for a tuba being easily comparable to a euphonium in size, however despite is smaller form factor it still performs well in line with other much more expensive (and larger) models.
